Chip Castille was named head of the U.S. retirement group at BlackRock, confirmed spokesman Farrell Denby.
It is a new position. Mr. Castille will oversee the newly formed group, which will develop and manage retirement strategies as well as coordinate the marketing strategy around the construction of a multiasset class platform for the individual retirement account and defined contribution businesses. He will continue to report to Rob Fairbairn, senior managing director and global head of BlackRock's retail and iShares businesses.
Mr. Castille was head of BlackRock's U.S. and Canada defined contribution group, which he will continue to lead. He remains a managing director at the firm.
