RBC Global Asset Management is adding a London-based global equity team, led by Habib Subjally, senior portfolio manager and head of global equities, confirmed spokeswoman Leah Commisso.
Mr. Subjally and his nine-member team come from First State Investments (UK), where they managed global equities for institutions and private clients.
It is an expansion of RBC’s global money management business, said Ms. Commisso.
Joining as senior portfolio managers are Neil Abbott, Luis Benoliel, Marcus Lun, Jeremy Richardson, Julie Thomas, Dag Wetterwald, Perry Winfield and Ben Yeoh, while Romain Scampini is joining as portfolio manager.
A First State Investments spokesman wrote in an e-mail that Mr. Subjally and four members of the team “are remaining with the business to manage the portfolios in caretaker mode. Once the current portfolios have been successfully transitioned they will leave the business.”
Ms. Commisso said the entire team should be transitioned by the end of March.
