William C. McVail has resigned as senior portfolio manager of small-cap growth equity investments at Turner Investments.
Mr. McVail joined the firm in June 1998. He reported to Bob Turner, chief investment officer and co-founder of Turner Investments.
In an e-mail announcing his resignation, Mr. McVail said “This is a decision that I made voluntarily, as I felt that it was time for me to do something different in my career.” He added that he plans to weigh his options for the future.
Prior to joining Turner, Mr. McVail was a senior portfolio manager at BlackRock, where he co-managed the firm's U.S. small-cap growth portfolios and managed its U.S. midcap growth portfolios.
Tucker Hewes, a spokesman for Turner Investments, confirmed Mr. McVail's resignation. He declined to comment on whether the firm is seeking a replacement.
