Doug Doughty was named managing director and global head of business development and client strategy for J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s global real assets group, confirmed spokeswoman Kristen Chambers.
It is a new position. Michael O’Brien has held the position of managing director and head of client strategy, but the “mandate for this position has been expanded to include more emphasis on business development in addition to client strategy,” wrote Ms. Chambers in an e-mail. Mr. O’Brien now reports to Mr. Doughty; whether there will be a change in his title has yet to be determined, Ms. Chambers wrote.
Mr. Doughty will lead the team responsible for capital raising, product prioritization, and client relationships across the firm’s global real assets platform, covering infrastructure, maritime investing and real estate. He will report to Joseph Azelby, managing director and head of global real assets.
Mr. Doughty was previously a managing director at real estate manager The CIM Group; spokeswoman Karen Diehl said the firm does not provide comment on personnel or the organization.
