Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, invested $130 million total in five hedge funds, according to a transaction report on the pension fund's website.
The $20.8 billion pension fund invested $30 million each in MKP Credit, a multistrategy credit fund managed by MKP Capital Management, and a York Capital Management Global Advisors hedge fund. Further information about the York Capital fund could not be learned by press time.
The pension fund also invested $20 million each in multistrategy funds AG Super Fund, managed by Angelo Gordon, and OZ Domestic Partners II, managed by Och-Ziff Capital Management Group.
The pension fund has previous investments with York Capital, Angelo Gordon and Och-Ziff.
The pension fund also invested an additional $30 million in Brevan Howard Credit Catalysts Fund, a credit-oriented fund managed by Brevan Howard Asset Management. The retirement system invested $200 million in the fund in January 2013.
