Philip Poole was named managing director and head of research at Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, confirmed company spokeswoman Maria Gonzalez.
The position is new. Mr. Poole will lead DeAWM's research activity across its global investment platform, run micro research and provide portfolio managers with investment advice for all asset classes.
He will be based in London and report to Randy Brown and Asoka Woehrmann, DeAWM's co-chief investment officers.
Mr. Poole was previously global head of macro and investment strategy at HSBC Global Asset Management. He was replaced by Julien Seetharamdoo, according to HSBC spokesman Neil Brazil.
