Yogesh Borkar was named co-portfolio manager at Axiom International Investors, according to Axiom spokesman Shane McMahon.
The position is new. Mr. Borkar will co-manage the newly launched Axiom International Small Cap Fund with Matthew Franco, who manages the small/microcap equity team.
Mr. Borkar will also work with Mr. Franco as a senior analyst for the international and global microcap strategies. He will report to Andrew H. Jacobson, Axiom's chief investment officer.
Mr. Borkar was a senior research analyst for Fidelity Investments and subsidiary Pyramis Global Advisors' global ex-U.S. small-cap strategy and an associate portfolio manager for the small-cap emerging markets strategy. His responsibilities were divided among a number of investment professionals, according to Fidelity and Pyramis spokesman Jeff Cathie.
