Bradley W. Sussman was named managing director and head of liquid alternative products at Ramius.
The position is new for the alternative investment manager, said Carissa Felger, a Ramius spokeswoman, in an e-mail.
Mr. Sussman oversees Ramius' mutual fund platform and is responsible for increasing the number of liquid alternative mutual funds offered on it.
Mr. Sussman was managing director and hedge fund strategist at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Matthew Card, a Merrill Lynch/Bank of America spokesman, declined to comment about a replacement for Mr. Sussman.
