Julius Genachowski joined The Carlyle Group as a managing director and partner in the firm's U.S. buyout team, according to a Carlyle news release.
Mr. Genachowski was chairman of the Federal Communications Commission from June 2009 to May 2013. Since leaving the FCC, Mr. Genachowski has taught a class at Harvard University's business and law schools and served as a senior fellow at the Aspen Institute, an education and policy organization.
Carlyle representatives Christopher Ullman and Elizabeth Gill could not be reached for further comment by press time.
