FirstEnergy Corp., Akron, Ohio, hired Fidelity Investments as record keeper of its 401(k) plan, according to a posting on the plan's website.
The previous record keeper was ING U.S. Retirement Solutions. The change was effective Jan. 1.
As of Dec. 31, 2012, the FirstEnergy Corp. Savings Plan had $3.3 billion in assets, according to its most recent Form 5500 filing.
