Marisa Grant was named acting chief investment officer for the Montgomery County Board of Education, Rockville, Md., overseeing the board's $1.2 billion defined benefit plan.
Ms. Grant replaces Jonathan Grabel, who on Jan. 6 will become chief investment officer of the $13.9 billion New Mexico Public Employees Retirement Association, Santa Fe.
Sue DeGraba, chief financial officer at the board of education, said her office anticipates it will advertise for the position in the spring.
Ms. Grant joined Montgomery County as an analyst in August. Before that, she was vice president of Musa Capital Advisors in Johannesburg and prior to that, vice president for equity research with Alliance Capital Management in New York.
