CI Investments hired Marret Asset Management as a subadviser to three CI Harbour growth and income mutual funds and a CI Investments multimanager income fund, according to Murray Oxby, spokesman at CI Financial, parent of CI Investments.
Paul Sandhu, portfolio manager at Marret Asset, will manage the fixed-income portion of the CI Harbour Growth & Income Fund, CI Harbour Growth & Income Corporate Class and CI Harbour Global Growth & Income Corporate Class mutual funds.
Roger Mortimer, senior vice president and senior portfolio manager at CI Investments’ Harbour Advisors division, will remain responsible for the funds’ asset allocation and managing the funds’ equity portion. Harbour Advisors has been sole manager for all three mutual funds, Mr. Oxby said.
Barry Allan, Marret chief investment officer, will manage high-yield corporate bonds for the CI Select Income Managed Corporate Class multimanager mutual fund. CI Investment Consulting, Signature Global Asset Management and Cambridge Global Asset Management — all CI Financial divisions — are the other subadvisers to the multimanager fund, Mr. Oxby said.
Marret will become subadviser to the CI Harbour funds on Jan. 31.
CI Financial, parent of CI Investments, acquired 65% of Marret Asset in September.
