David Steyn was named head of Americas at Aberdeen Asset Management, according to company spokeswoman Katie Cowley.
Beginning in January, Mr. Steyn will replace Gary Marshall, who will return to the U.K. to continue playing a key role in business development group. Details about Mr. Marshall’s new role in the firm will be revealed at a later date. Over the next few months, Mr. Marshall will transfer his current responsibilities to Mr. Steyn.
Mr. Steyn will report directly to Martin Gilbert, founder and CEO of Aberdeen.
Mr. Steyn was chief operating officer at AllianceBernstein Holding. He was replaced by Jim Gingrich, according to AllianceBernstein spokesman Jonathan Freedman. Mr. Gingrich was CEO and chairman of Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., a subsidiary of AllianceBernstein. Mr. Gingrich was replaced by Robert van Brugge.
