San Francisco City & County Employees' Retirement System committed up to $50 million to Odyssey Investment Partners Fund V, a private equity fund, confirmed Robert Shaw, interim deputy director for investments.
The $18.5 billion pension fund previously committed up to $30 million to Odyssey Investment Partners Fund IV in October 2008.
The pension fund also committed up to $75 million to three venture capital funds managed by Weathergage: up to $30 million to Weathergage Capital Investments B, $25 million to Weathergage Capital Investments A and $20 million to Weathergage Venture Capital III.
It is an existing relationship for the pension fund; in January 2011, the pension fund committed up to $50 million to Weathergage Project A and $20 million each to Weathergage Venture Capital II and Weathergage Micro-Venture Capital Fund.
Separately, the pension fund named six finalists in its search for at least one global equity manager to run about $450 million. The pension fund issued an RFP in August.
The finalists are Arrowstreet Capital, Baillie Gifford Overseas, Causeway Capital Management, Harding Loevner, Investec Asset Management and Longview Partners. Interviews will take place at the pension fund's Jan. 15 board meeting.
Angeles Investment Advisors is assisting with the search.
