Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds, Hartford, agreed to commit a total of up to $125 million to Apollo Investment Fund VIII, confirmed Denise Nappier, the state treasurer and principal fiduciary for the $27.1 billion state pension system, in an e-mail.
Apollo Investment Fund VIII is a $15 billion multistrategy private equity fund being raised by Apollo Global Management. The fund will focus primarily on private equity and distressed debt investments, corporate carveouts and opportunistic buyouts.
The commitment is pending successful contract negotiations.
