Mark Fortier was named managing director, head of global defined contribution research and product development at State Street Global Advisors.
It is a new position. Mr. Fortier is working on retirement income and customized strategies across all asset classes, and will bring new DC products to market globally. He reports to Fredrik Axsater, managing director and global head of defined contribution at SSgA.
“Having someone with Mark's experience and expertise, we can build even stronger products and work closer with clients,” Mr. Axsater said in a telephone interview.
Mr. Axsater said the new position is “broad in scope” and includes creating strategies across different markets.
Mr. Fortier was senior vice president and head of product and partner strategy at AllianceBernstein. Spokesman Jonathan Freedman could not be immediately reached for information on a replacement.
