James Meynard, executive director of the Georgia Firefighters' Pension Fund, Conyers, will retire effective April 30, Mr. Meynard confirmed.
Mr. Meynard has been executive director of the $700 million pension fund since 2002.
Morgan Wurst, assistant treasurer, has taken on the interim position of deputy director, assuming some of Mr. Meynard's responsibilities.
A decision regarding Mr. Meynard's permanent replacement will be made by the board in the coming months, Mr. Meynard said.
