William H. Gross has taken over management of the PIMCO Unconstrained Bond Fund, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The fund had been run by Chris Dialynas. It is unclear why the transition occurred. The fund had $28 billion in asset as of Nov. 29, according to Bloomberg data.
Mark Porterfield, a spokesman for Pacific Investment Management Co., did not respond to a phone call or e-mail seeking comment.
Mr. Gross, PIMCO's founder, managing director and co-chief investment officer, is also manager of the PIMCO Total Return Fund, one of the largest mutual funds in the world with $244.1 billion as of Nov 29, according to Bloomberg data.
