Jay Fewel, senior investment officer at the Oregon State Treasury who is responsible for Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund’s $21.3 billion private equity portfolio, will retire Feb. 1 after a 24-year career, according to a news release.
“In his stellar career, Jay Fewel has helped to improve the financial security of every Oregonian who relies on public trust funds,” state Treasurer Ted Wheeler said in the release.
The process for finding a successor to Mr. Fewel will be decided at the Oregon Investment Council meeting on Jan. 29. The Oregon Investment Council, Tigard, runs the $66.3 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, Salem.
