Jerry W. Ehlinger is rejoining Heitman as managing director and senior portfolio manager for the real estate investment firm's North America public real estate securities portfolio, confirmed Rick Matthews, Heitman spokesman.
Mr. Ehlinger replaces Tim Pire, who has been promoted to the new position of chief investment strategist. Mr. Pire will be responsible for optimizing Heitman's global portfolio construction and risk management processes. He will serve as co-portfolio manager with Mr. Ehlinger during a short transition period.
Mr. Ehlinger was lead portfolio manager and head of real estate securities, Americas, at Deutsche Bank's real estate group, formerly known as RREEF. Catherine Wooters, Deutsche Bank spokeswoman, could not be reached for information on Mr. Ehlinger's replacement by press time.
