Fonds de Reserve pour les Retraites, Paris, hired BNP Paribas Asset Management and Kleinwort Benson Investors to manage €150 million ($203 million) each in environmental, social and governance investments.
The strategy is a new one for the €36.6 billion pension fund, according to a news release on FRR's website.
The managers each received a four-year contract with an option for an additional year.
An RFP was issued in December 2011. The funding source could not be learned.
Separately, FRR named BlackRock Advisors (UK), Goldman Sachs International and Russell Investments to serve on a preapproved list of transition managers.
The firms were appointed for three years with an option for a fourth.
