Catherine A. Lynch was appointed to the investment advisory committee of New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, confirmed Eric Sumberg, spokesman for state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, sole trustee of the $160.7 billion pension fund.
Ms. Lynch, CEO and chief investment officer at the $22.2 billion National Railroad Retirement Investment Trust, Washington, becomes the ninth member of the committee, Mr. Sumberg said in an interview.
The committee “reviews asset allocation and investment strategies, and provides investment advice and policy recommendations to the comptroller,” according to a news release Wednesday from Mr. DiNapoli.
The advisory committee “plays an important oversight role in the investment process of the Common Retirement Fund, and I know that Catherine’s investment experience and training will be a valuable addition to the committee,” Mr. DiNapoli said in the news release.
