James Wheeler was named managing director and head of institutional sales, Europe and Middle East at Manulife Asset Management, according to Manulife spokeswoman Beth McGoldrick.
The position is new.
Mr. Wheeler will be based in the company’s Hong Kong office and deliver Manulife’s public market and private asset investment opportunities to institutional investors in the Europe and Middle East.
Mr. Wheeler will report to James Chen, whose role as head of institutional business and relationship management has been expanded to international from Asia.
Mr. Wheeler was client relationship manager at Legal & General Investment Management, where he focused on European institutional clients. The company is looking for a replacement, according to LGIM spokesman Steve Leach.
