Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Toronto, expanded the oversight roles of two senior management executives in response to a growing stable of global investments, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Mark Machin, president of CPPIB's Asia-Pacific unit, will also take on the newly created position of senior vice president and head of international. He will be responsible for coordinating all of the C$192.8 billion (US$182.7 billion) pension fund's international investment activities. Mr. Machin reports to Mark Wiseman, president and CEO of CPPIB.
Also, Alain Carrier, will take on the new position of managing director and head of Europe where he will lead and coordinate CPPIB investments in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The new position replaces his previous title of managing director, Europe, and global head of infrastructure, private investments. He also reports to Mr. Machin.
