With less than six weeks of trading left in 2013, P&I Online asked readers where the Standard & Poor's 500 index will end the year, and readers were overwhelmingly bullish.
More than 48% of readers believe the S&P 500 index will end the year up more than 25%. Another 29% of readers believe the index will end up more than 15% but less than 25%.
Although the S&P 500 exceeded 1,800 last week, some readers expect the market to give back those gains. Four percent of readers believe the index will end up only 5% to 15% for the year. Almost 10% of readers think the index will end up less than 5% for the year.
A small group of bears (9%) believe the S&P 500 will close down for the year.
As of Nov. 22's close, the S&P 500 index is up more than 26.5% for the year.
Last year, the S&P 500 posted a total return of 15.89%.
