Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, Columbus, will issue an RFP in early January for active core-plus fixed-income managers to run about $2.8 billion in assets for the $23.7 billion state insurance fund, said spokeswoman Melissa Vince.
The portfolio of assets is currently managed passively by State Street Global Advisors. Finalist presentations are expected in July.
Separately, the fund committed $50 million to Hammes Partners II, a health-care real estate fund managed by Hammes Co. It is the fund's first investment with Hammes. It is part of its 1.5% allocation to value-added real estate.
