Josh Empson joined private equity firm Providence Equity Partners as a managing director, confirmed Andrew Cole, spokesman, in an e-mailed response to questions.
Mr. Empson is leaving NantCapital, a private equity firm he co-founded. Mr. Empson will focus on new investments in the media sector as well as existing portfolio companies, including recent acquisition Learfield Sports. He will be based in Providence's New York office.
