BlackRock DC survey: Most popular contribution rate is 5%, but 34% of respondents contributed 10% or more to DC plans in 2012

BlackRock’s 2013 annual retirement survey, released on Monday, shows that 5% was the most prevalent percentage of pay contributed to work-sponsored retirement plans in 2012. In a survey of 882 participants, 16% indicated they contributed 5% of pay in 2012. However, it should be noted that 34% of respondents indicated they contributed 10% or more of their pay during the year.
