G. Moffett Cochran, chairman, CEO and co-founder of Silvercrest Asset Management Group, died on Monday, confirmed Richard Hough, president, chief operating officer and acting CEO of the firm.
Mr. Cochran co-founded the firm in April 2002. The company had announced on Monday that Mr. Cochran had been hospitalized in critical condition as a result of a previously disclosed medical condition and named Mr. Hough acting CEO.
“We lost the man who had the vision, intelligence, wisdom and strength that created Silvercrest Asset Management and made it the preeminent wealth management firm it is today. Those of us who worked with Moffett lost a dear friend and a mentor who inspired us to work hard to achieve the goals he set out over 11 years ago,” according to a statement from the firm Tuesday.
