Randeep Somel is now the sole portfolio manager of the $2.4 billion Vanguard Precious Metals and Mining Fund at subadviser M&G Investment Management, confirmed Vanguard Group spokesman David Hoffman in an e-mail.
Mr. Somel was a co-portfolio manager of the fund with Graham E. French, who is stepping down as co-manager of the fund. Mr. French will remain in a consultative role with the fund for the next six months.
Mr. Somel reports to Michael McLintock, CEO of M&G Investment.
M&G is searching for a replacement for Mr. French, who will then become a co-portfolio manager with Mr. Somel.
