Edward Root was named senior adviser and senior pension risk transfer expert at Towers Watson.
The position is new, said Ed Emerman, Towers Watson spokesman. Mr. Root will advise North American pension funds on derisking.
Mr. Root was vice president of U.S. pensions at MetLife. Robin Lenna, executive vice president, will handle his duties while the company searches for a replacement, said Meghan Lantier, spokeswoman.
