Christopher DiFusco was named chief investment officer at Philadelphia Gas Works Retirement Reserve Fund, confirmed Charles C. Jones, executive director of the city's Sinking Fund Commission, which is the trustee for the $480 million defined benefit pension fund.
Mr. DiFusco replaces John Foulkes, who retired in October.
Mr. DiFusco will oversee the pension fund's investments and will report directly to the pension fund's board of trustees.
Mr. DiFusco was director of investments at the $4.7 billion Philadelphia Board of Pensions and Retirement. He will not be replaced, according to an e-mail from Harvey Rice, Sinking Fund Commission alternate trustee. The Sinking Fund is also trustee for the pension board.
