Arti Sharma was named president and CEO of Northern Trust Canada, effective Monday.
Ms. Sharma will oversee all of Northern Trust's Canadian operations. She will report to David W. Fox, executive vice president and head of Americas for corporate and institutional services, said spokesman John O'Connell.
Ms. Sharma replaces Robert J. Baillie, who left Northern Trust in June, Mr. O'Connell said. John Folk, Canada COO, led Canada operations in the interim.
Ms. Sharma was a principal at Mercer Sentinel, Mercer's Toronto-based custody advisory business. There are no current plans to replace her, said Charles Salmans, Mercer spokesman
