New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, hired Artisan Partners to run a $300 million small-cap growth global equity allocation, according to a notice posted on the website of Thomas DiNapoli, the state comptroller and sole trustee of the $158.7 billion pension fund.
This is a first-time investment with Artisan, according to the notice.
Eric Sumberg, a spokesman for Mr. DiNapoli, could not be reached for comment.
