Virginie Maisonneuve will join Pacific Investment Management Co. in January as managing director and global head of equities portfolio management, according to a PIMCO news release.
Ms. Maisonneuve is currently head of global and international equities at Schroders PLC. She will be based in PIMCO's London office.
Neel Kashkari, who had the title of head of global equities, left the firm in January. Marc Seidner, managing director and portfolio manager, was named interim head of global equities that same month.
Mr. Kashkari, who previously was a senior adviser to former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, joined PIMCO in December 2009 to help launch the firm's expansion into equities. The first fund opened in April 2010.
According to a Schroders statement, Simon Webber, deputy head of global and international equities, will become lead portfolio manager for global and international equities, while Peter Harrison, global head of equities, will take on management responsibility for the team.
“Virginie is a proven equity investor and leader who has delivered a track record of success for clients throughout her 25-year career as a portfolio manager and a business builder,” said Mohamed A. El-Erian, CEO and co-chief investment officer of PIMCO, in the news release.
PIMCO spokesman Mark Porterfield did not provide further information.
