Charles B. Leitner III was named president of Berkshire Group, a multifamily real estate investment and management firm, a spokeswoman confirmed.
It is a new position.
Mr. Leitner was chairman and CEO of the ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance, a non-profit group of real estate investors committed to reduced greenhouse gas emissions and lower energy consumption. Before that, he was the global head of Deutsche Bank’s real asset unit, formerly known as RREEF.
Mr. Leitner will report to George Krupp, Berkshire’s co-founder and CEO. He will oversee Berkshire’s day-to-day operations and help to expand the firm’s business over time beyond its current focus on multifamily and real estate operating company investments.
