Adam Tyrrell was named portfolio manager at Black River Asset Management, confirmed James Gruver, senior managing director and global head of investor relations, in an e-mail.
It is a new position. Mr. Tyrrell serves as a portfolio manager on the $123 million Black River Equity Relative Value Fund, an event-driven hedge fund. He reports to Jack Clarke and Martin Smith, senior portfolio managers. Mr. Tyrrell is responsible for idea generation, analysis and trade construction, according to a news release.
Mr. Tyrrell was most recently a partner at OVS Capital. Officials at the firm could not be reached for replacement information.
