Keith Shepherd was named to the trustee executive team at the £16.7 billion ($27 billion) BP Pension Fund, London, confirmed Sally Bridgeland, CEO, BP Pension Trustees Ltd.
Mr. Shepherd starts at the beginning of next year. His position will involve “exploring and defining the mandates in new asset types,” Ms. Bridgeland said in an e-mail. She was not able to provide additional information.
Mr. Shepherd is currently chief investment officer at RPMI, which oversees the £20 billion Railways Pension Scheme, London. He is leaving at the end of the year. RPMI has no plans to replace him at this time, according to a statement from the company.
Paul Bishop, RPMI's head of investment management, and Ciaran Barr, head of investment strategy, will remain in charge of Railpen's investment portfolio. Christopher Hitchen, CEO, provides investment oversight, and Frank Johnson, managing director of investments, runs the 50-person investment team.
