Halifax Herald Ltd., Halifax, Nova Scotia, retained CIBC Mellon as global custodian for its C$68 million (US$66 million) defined benefit pension plan, confirmed Ian Scott, vice president, operations, at the newspaper publisher.
CIBC Mellon has been custodian at the pension fund for about three years, Mr. Scott said. The current contract was extended and no RFP was issued, he said.
Along with custody, CIBC Mellon will offer accounting and benefit services to the pension fund.
