Maine Public Employees Retirement System, Augusta, committed a total of up to $120 million to two private equity funds, confirmed Andrew Sawyer, chief investment officer.
The $11.2 billion pension fund committed up to $60 million to GTCR Fund XI, which invests in core sectors such as financial services, growth business services, health care, and information services and technology. The pension fund previously committed $30 million to GTCR Fund X in January 2011.
Maine also committed up to $60 million to Onex Partners IV, a private equity fund that invests in large-scale, value-oriented North American businesses. The pension fund previously committed $10 million to Onex Partners III, also in January 2011.
