Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, hired Delaware Investments to run up to $300 million in active domestic large-cap value equities, confirmed Dana Brown, director of public markets.
The board of the $15.2 billion pension fund voted at its Sept. 6 meeting to add a second large-cap value manager following the rehiring of LSV Asset Management to run about $850 million.
Other finalists were Robeco Investment Management and Wellington Management.
Investment consultant Hewitt EnnisKnupp assisted.
Separately, the pension fund committed up to $75 million to Towers Square Capital Partners IV, a mezzanine debt fund managed by Babson Capital Management, and up to $50 million to Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe IV.
