Haverhill (Mass.) Retirement System is searching for a timber manager to run $5 million, according to an RFP posted on the website of Wainwright Investment Counsel, investment consultant to the pension fund.
The $155 million pension fund currently has three investments with timber manager Global Forest Partners in its real estate portfolio, according to the 2012 annual report of the Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission. The real estate target allocation is 8.5%.
The RFP is available on Wainwright's website. Proposals are due at 2 p.m. EDT Oct. 25. A hiring date has not been determined.
The pension fund referred calls to Gus Aristizabal, director of research at Wainwright, who did not respond by press time.
