New York State Teachers' Retirement System, Albany, is searching for a proxy-voting research and advisory firm, according to an RFP posted on the pension fund's website.
Currently, the proxy-voting process is administered internally.
The $94.9 billion pension fund is looking for a firm to provide a “voting platform with supporting proxy analysis, aggregation and voting the same security across multiple domestic equity and international equity portfolios and customizable reporting to meet the specific and ad hoc needs of the system,” according to the RFP.
For the year ended Dec. 31, NYSTRS voted on 16,552 proposals presented at 1,796 meetings for companies in the domestic equity portfolio.
The RFP is available on NYSTRS' website. Proposals are due at 2 p.m. EST Nov. 7. A hiring decision is expected Nov. 27.
