Alternative investment consulting firm StepStone Group is buying Greenpark Capital, a London-based private equity firm that invests on the secondary market, according to sources with knowledge of the deal.
The transaction is not yet final, sources said. Terms of the deal could not be learned. A StepStone spokeswoman declined to comment, and Greenpark spokesman Piers Hooper could not be reached for comment.
This would be the third acquisition by StepStone. In 2010, StepStone acquired SilverBrook, a private equity firm that invests on the secondary market. One year later, StepStone bought Parish Capital Advisors, a private equity fund-of-funds firm.
