Strategists see S&P 500 rising by an average of 1.4% through the year

As the last quarter of the year approaches, the average estimate among 17 sell-side brokerage strategists for the S&P 500 index at the end of 2013 stands at 1.4% above its current level. The median estimate is 1,750, 3.4% higher than its close on Sept. 27.
