Office Depot Inc., Boca Raton, Fla., added the Goldman Sachs Small Cap Value fund as an investment option in its 401(k) plan, confirmed spokeswoman Rebecca Rakitin.
The fund replaces the Perkins Small Cap Value Fund, which was dropped because “it was failing three of the seven criteria used to monitor fund performance,” Ms. Rakitin wrote in an e-mail.
John Groneman, spokesman for Perkins Investment Management parent Janus Capital Group, did not respond to a phone call seeking comment by press time.
The 401(k) plan has 21 investment options.
As of Dec. 31, 2011, the Office Depot Inc. Retirement Savings Plan had $378 million in assets, according to the company's most recent Form 5500 filing.
