Scottish Enterprise Pension and Life Assurance Scheme, Glasgow, Scotland, hired Mercer as investment consultant, according to Tenders Electronic Daily, a European procurement website.
The pension plan also hired Hymans Robertson as actuary.
The scheme had £486 million ($776 million) in assets as of March 31, 2012, according to Scottish Enterprises' most recently available annual report. Mercer was listed as the actuary in that report; no further information on the incumbent investment consultant was available.
Efforts to reach officials at the scheme were unsuccessful; procurement department spokesman Ian Monk did not respond to inquiries by press time.
