Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, Washington, rehired hired BlackRock to manage its $28.6 billion International Stock Index Investment Fund.
The I Fund was the $336.7 billion Thrift Savings Plan's best performer in 2012, with an 18.62% return.
BlackRock has run the fund since December 2009. The contract is for one year, with four one-year renewal options.
The I Fund is a stock index fund that tracks the MSCI Europe, Australasia, Far East index.
