Nate Earle was named liability-driven investing product specialist and Colyar Pridgen was named liability strategist at BNY Mellon's fixed-income specialist Standish Mellon Asset Management, according to Andrew A. Catalan, managing director and head of LDI strategies for Standish.
Both positions are new. Mr. Earle joined the Standish team that implements LDI strategies for pension funds. Mr. Pridgen is working with Standish's investment actuarial group, which integrates investment actuarial considerations with customized LDI strategies. Mr. Earle reports to Mr. Catalan, while Mr. Pridgen reports to Jeffrey Passmore, senior liability strategist in the LDI group.
“We're continuing to see growth in our LDI business. So our philosophy is to hire ahead of that growth,” Mr. Catalan said in an interview.
Mr. Earle was a senior ETF product associate at Pacific Investment Management Co. Mr. Pridgen was a consultant for Towers Watson. Officials at PIMCO and Towers Watson did not respond to calls requesting comment by press time.
