Ligia Torres has been appointed head of Asia-Pacific and emerging markets at BNP Paribas Investment Partners, according to a company news release Thursday.
The London-based position is new.
Ms. Torres previously served as head of BNP Paribas Wealth Management's U.K. business and chairman of BNP Paribas Investment Partners U.K.
A BNP Paribas spokeswoman didn't immediately have information regarding plans to fill those positions.
The same news release announced the formal appointment of Vincent Camerlynck as BNP Paribas Investment Partners' CEO for the Asia-Pacific region.
In July, a company spokeswoman had confirmed that Mr. Camerlynck would succeed Stewart Edgar, who resigned from the CEO role to “pursue other opportunities.”
Mr. Camerlynck will report to Ms. Torres.
Asked whether Mr. Camerlynck's previous role of deputy CEO would be filled, a BNP Paribas spokeswoman said in an e-mail that the matter is under review.
